Planning your Visit to Saipan
Visiting Saipan for your sailing vacation is an excellent choice since the weather is warm all year round. The air temperature is a nominal 77˚ F at night to 86˚ to 89˚ F during the day moderated by Easterly trade winds for most of the year. The waters are warm and clear, (100 feet + visibility) making it easy to navigate the shallower parts of the lagoon during the day. There are many times where we are visited by dolphins, eagle rays and sea turtles during our sailing excursions
Tinian is a nearby destination for a visit and practical coastal cruising excursion. Visiting the islands of Saipan and Tinian are rich in World War II historical sites as well as excellent scuba and snorkeling opportunities. The Southernmost island of CNMI, Rota is further to the Southwest at 75 nm and we sail there seasonally when trade winds are moderate.
Our future will broaden to offering certification for ASA 106, Advanced Coastal Cruising; ASA 107 Celestial Navigation; ASA 108 Passage Making for an eco-tourism-based excursions to the islands to the North of Saipan. Of the 14 islands in CNMI, 10 islands to the North of Saipan are uninhabited volcanic islands. Sailing North, although seasonally limited to 2 months per year in May and June, gives the prospective tourist the opportunity to gain skills in the above certification levels. This unique excursion offers a view of wildlife, fish, while appreciating the vast desolation and natural beauty of the Western Pacific Ocean. Our boats are keel boat, sloops ranging from 20-26 feet with the proper safety equipment required of a recreational sailing vessel.
